Last Sunday we celebrated our Patronal Festival, baptised three children, and bade farewell to Fr Luke who now moves to prepare for his new ministry as parish priest of Christ Church and St Mary Magdalene, St Leonards. We pray for him, for his family and for our own parish as the interregnum begins.

This Sunday, 29th September, is the feast of Michaelmas and our Patronal Festival. At St Gabriel’s almost all of the scaffolding has been removed from the west front revealing the results of extensive restoration work over recent months.  In particular, a cross has been restored to the top of the west gable.

It has been announced that Fr Luke has been appointed Rector of Christ Church, St Leonards in East Sussex, and he will be collated and installed on 9th October.  His last Sunday at St Gabriel’s will be our Patronal Festival, Sunday 29th September. Jesus comes to Pimlico

On Sunday 14th July we welcome the choir of Jesus College Cambridge to sing at the Parish Mass at 10.30 am.  The Dean of Jesus College, Fr John Hughes, will preach. Bishop Jonathan at School

This week Bishop Jonathan Baker joined us at St Gabriel’s School to celebrate the weekly School Mass on St Thomas’s Day.  Bishop Jonathan also spent the morning with pupils and staff.  The link between the Church and St Gabriel’s School is a particularly strong one, and is at the heart of our life together.
